Pocky Cake - Cappuccino

Drooling yet?

I know I was when I made this cake! Imagine this:

Chocolate cake, cappuccino cream, Pocky sticks and Milo cereal on top!

Honestly I wanted to make a strawberry pocky cake, but then again I was making this for one of my grandfathers (My grandfather's sister's husband - did you get that?)

So, what would a group of senior citizens and grandchildren love?

Coffee and snacks!!

As you know, grandparents are not a big fan of sweets. I originally wanted to make the Kit Kat cake, but then again, that's also too sweet for them as well. So, biscuits and cereal anyone? Something both generations can agree on, right?

I remember when I was a kid, we would have tea time (or what Malaysians would call minum petang) and my grandparents would enjoy their cup of coffee or tea while I would munch on some biscuits that were made by my lovely grandmother, or some Hup Seng cream crackers or even cereal (yes, in the evening). Did anyone else have the same childhood as I did?

Have a look at the behind-the-scenes and step-by-step pictures I have for you below:

Cappuccino Cream!! It smells HEAVENLY!

Crumb coat it, frost it, and pipe a generous layer of cappuccino cream on top!
You see, the cake and Milo are chocolate, and the biscuit stick and cream and cappuccino flavoured. Can anyone say, Mocha? (Chocolate + Coffee)

Tada!! And just when you think that the cake is already pretty as it is...

...a hundred grams of Milo is all it takes to cover that lovely layer of cappuccino cream!

Below are some pictures from the party.
Not much, since I was mostly helping out in the kitchen and cutting the cake into small (square) pieces to be distributed evenly among the guests. Of course I cut a few pieces in a triangular manner for the birthday grandpa, his immediate family, and the rest were square little cakes with 2 or 3 biscuit sticks on each slice. Oh there were plenty of cake to go around because one of my grandpa's nieces sponsored another cake. But THESE were a bigger hit! I have children (and adults alike) coming into the kitchen, talking to me (distracting me) while they sneak their fingers around the cake to steal one of the biscuit sticks or Milo cereal and then runs away to go nibble on them! No, I wasn't bothered at all. I was flattered, really. It shows how interested they were in the cake I made. :)

P.S. Compliments were passed along and the cake was one of the "hot topics" that night! Some even asked for seconds!!

However, I didn't get the opportunity to taste it myself since the cake finished before I could get my hands on it. Really.

But anyhoo, I'll probably make more of these in the future since I have customers and friends asking me for the price. Thank you and enjoy the pictures!!

And this is my sister, the "cake bearer" while all the grandchildren walked up to him and sang
Happy Birthday!

As for the candle, he wouldn't reveal his age (being the fun and mysterious grandpa), we decided to go with just one.

I hope everyone enjoyed the cake!

Love,

Say hello to our latest addition to our Kit Kat edition! (Hey, that rhymes!)

I simply cannot get over how pretty the ruffles are! Can you see it? Here's a picture of what the ruffles look like before all the butterflies invaded the cake!

SO. A few days prior, Dorothy (a regular customer of mine) sent me a text asking if I could make a butterfly themed cake. Luckily I had an opening on that day for an extra cake! At first she requested for a cream or fondant cake. I didn't have the time to make a fondant cake and a cream cake with fondant butterflies simply would not do. So, what other "dry" surfaces can I work with? Our Kit Kat Edition of course! Dorothy "trusts my judgement to make it pretty", and that's when it all started! I love it when customers give me the freedom and trust when it comes to the cake decoration! All I need is a theme, and the ones Dorothy gave me were "Butterflies" and "Princess".

When I was working on this cake, I knew exactly how I wanted the butterflies to be aligned. I also added a couple of roses since, well, butterflies are attracted to flowers. Since I was given a princess theme, pink and purple came to mind. Which, by the way, matches the colour schemes perfectly! (I wasn't told beforehand but I was pretty surprised with what I saw) However, I can't take credit for the cupcakes. I only provided the cake for the party.

Check out the pictures below sent in by our fans on Instagram!

Pretty, isn't it? Just what every 9-year-old would want!
Thank you so much Dorothy for the opportunity!

What do you guys think of the cake? :)

How crazy is this cake?? It's a chocolate cake, with cream, fenced with Kit Kat and then topped with chocolatey goodness? (Did anyone faint of excitement? Yes?) :D

It all started in May. It was my cousin's birthday and he LOVES my cakes! I thought I'd make him the best birthday cake a 10 year old could ever imagine! I know for a fact that he and his family loves Kit Kat! What better way to WOW them? (Psst! The cake behind the first KitKat cake was actually Red Velvet, his favourite!)

That's it! The first ever Kit Kat cake! With dark chocolate M&Ms on top!
After that, people started ordering.. and ordering.. even with customised toppings! Have a look!

For Firdaus Awang Tengah's birthday. Moshi monsters cupcakes! How cute!

Valentines!

Hello and happy (belated) Valentines day! We are so sorry for not making anything special this Valentines due to lack of response (I blame the flowers by the streets. Haha!) And of course the many coursed meals at restaurants. I would know. I had to book a few days in advanced! I can't say the same for our CNY gift packs though. They were selling fast! Thank you so much and we've received so many good reviews on our truffles! Let's get back to our topic, shall we? It seems like couples and friends everywhere spends Valentine's day outside together with everyone else. However we did manage to get a few requests for the day of love! Thank you so much to our regular customers who have never failed to purchase each limited edition gift pack we have ever made!

Assorted chocolate gift pack hand delivered to a student at Limkokwing. You know who you are!
A 2-in-1 CNY and Vday gift!

As for our mini outlet, we've supplied a few boxes of PINK VELVET cupcakes, tied with a ribbon and comes with a Vday card! And it's for the same price! That's our way of showing our love for you. ;)

Picture was taken a day after Valentine's Day and we came to an almost empty fridge!
The assorted cupcakes at the back were freshly stocked on the 15th. I just wanted a good picture so might as well make the fridge look full, right?

Stay tuned for more updates!

Anuar's Birthday Cake

Hello dearies! Drooling yet?
Do you love Kinder Bueno as much as I do?
Then you'll love this cake!

It's similar to my Kit Kat Edition cakes, but how about a Kinder Bueno Edition? (With Oreo bits on top!)
I'm thinking of adding this to the menu, with the right size of course. This cake is 6" and the ones I sell are the standard 8" cake. I'm also considering giving you dearies an option for the sizes. Maybe some of you need it for a small and intimate occasion, an average sized party or maybe even a large gathering. 6", 8" and 10" would do the trick? Yes? Let me know what you think!

Here are photos of Anuar and his birthday cake. He's like a brother to me and celebrating his 18th birthday is an important event! A cake is definitely the centerpiece and the object anyone looks forward to during a party! Accompanied by the music and the joyful singing of family and friends. Also, enjoy the cross section of the cake! (something I rarely see!)

Again, please let me know what you think of the sizes and the cake. Should it be on the menu? :)

Orang Ulu Baby Carrier Cake

So, what do you think? :D
It took me 4 hours to make this cake.

YES, THIS IS A CAKE.

1. Cutting/carving the cake
2. Filling the cake
3. Coating the cake with jam
4. Covering the cake with fondant.
5. Piping the details
6. Moulding the details (handle)
7. Finishing touches

A customer requested me to make this cake after many bakeries have rejected her. It is tedious work, but I do like a challenge, so why not? :)

Here's the photo she gave me:

Say hello to the step-by-step(kinda) decorating stages...

Starting with the middle. I worked on the right first and then try to symmetrically match the design on the left side of the cake. (which is red velvet cake, by the way)

White - done!

Yellow is next!

Then orange...

And red~

TADA!!

When my mother saw it in the morning, she asked "When did you have time to add all the beads?"
And with my lack-of-sleep voice and attention span, "What beads?"
And that's when she went all ballistic with all the details and real-ness of the texture and cake itself. My dad reacted the same way. Tete was all smiles and my sister went "Oh my gosh!".

I have fans and customers saying "That's a cake?" or "I thought you went from cake business to baby carrier making business", which I find hilarious and flattering at the same time! :)

Alrighty then, what was your first reaction when you saw it? :)

Love,
The Enchantress

Scha-prise! Get it?
Well, I got a surprise from a dear customer Cindy on a Tuesday afternoon.
She had WhatsApp-ed me with news that the many bottles of Nestum Ice (our version of a light nestum cookie with a meringue top) that she had bought from us, one of them was given to...

*drumroll*

Scha Alyahya!
She is a local actress and most notable for playing the role of Dania in Awan Dania.
She's also married to Malaysian actor Awal Ashaari.
The rest, you can google her up!

Here are the screenshots; The one I got from Cindy and one I took of Scha Alyahya's Instagram.
